Toy Chests

A pirate toy chest can be a great addition to any little boy’s room!  The only problem is, they are hard to find.  There are a lot of little ones that look like toy chests online, but when you get them, they end up being super small.  So make sure you check the dimensions if you want an actual chest to hold toys!

This Shiver Me Timbers Toy chest from Amazon is a hot seller.  The only problem is it is a good deal more expensive than most of the other toy chests you see, though it occasionally goes on sale.  It does have all the safety features necessary for children to play with.  It also is a decent size – large enough to hold a number of toys, but not so large that it overwhelms the room.   This toy box is also a good deal sturdier than most models that you find.

Another option is the Guidecraft Pirate Treasure Chest.  This costs a good deal less, and comes with an attractive paint job.  However, it has a number of complaints regarding the size of the screws used when putting it together.  They are said to be too small to support the lid and wheels.  However, other reviewers have said they got it together without any problems.  I personally like the first pirate toy chest better, but if you are handy, this may be a good option for you.

Finally, there are a number of smaller options you could consider if you are just looking for a treasure chest to use for prizes and organization purposes.  They work great in a classroom or other settings – in fact, our dentist office uses one and the kids love it!  There are even tiny ones that could be used for party favors.  Click here for a  list of different ones available at Amazon.
